On September 26, 2025, in Can Tho City, the seminar “Building a Production – Consumption Linkage Chain for Rice” was organized by Southern Fertilizer Joint Stock Company in cooperation with TD Organic Rice Agriculture JSC (Ong Du Rice).
The event attracted enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups and outstanding farmers from the Mekong Delta to exchange solutions for developing a sustainable linkage chain for the rice industry.

The seminar was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Son – Lecturer at the School of Economics, Can Tho University and Advisor to Southern Fertilizer JSC; Mr. Doan Tan Sang – Deputy General Director of Southern Fertilizer JSC; Mr. Tram Du – General Director of TD Organic Rice Agriculture JSC; Mr. Le Minh Tri – Head of the 30/4 Cooperative Group in Ho Dac Kien Commune; together with representatives from the Department of Agriculture & Rural Development, local authorities, cooperative leaders and many exemplary farmers.

For the first time, a rice trading and distribution company cooperated with a fertilizer manufacturer, along with experts, state agencies, cooperatives and farmers to discuss practical and effective solutions for rice production and consumption.

In his address, Mr. Tram Du highlighted the goal of building a strong linkage chain to ensure stable outputs, enhance the value of Vietnamese rice and strengthen its brand in the international market.

In his presentation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Phu Son shared experiences from successful linkage models, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among enterprises – cooperatives – farmers in building a sustainable value chain.

Representing Southern Fertilizer JSC, Mr. Doan Tan Sang affirmed the company’s commitment to supporting farmers through the supply of high-quality agricultural inputs and technical assistance for advanced farming practices.
Notably, Southern Fertilizer shared the results from its demonstration model in Long Duc (Long Phu, Soc Trang – former administrative boundary): rice yield increased while fertilizer cost and total cultivation costs decreased compared with traditional methods.
The discussion session received many practical opinions from farmers. Participants agreed to continue expanding linkage models to promote sustainable development of the rice industry.
The seminar concluded in the spirit of close cooperation and long-term companionship among enterprises, cooperatives and farmers. The agreements and orientations set forth are expected to pave the way for enhancing the value of Vietnamese rice and strengthening its global brand presence.
